FACULTY OF LAW
The Faculty of Law continues to provide its students
with legal education of the highest standard even as it
prepares to fully embrace technological advancements.
Graduates Performance at the Norman Manley Law School
(NMLS)
The second cohort of graduates from the Faculty of
Law graduated from the NMLS in September 2014. It
is noteworthy that this group of graduates consisted
of forty (40) students who were successful in gaining
admission to the Law School in 2012.
Of this number, nine (9) UTech, Jamaica, Jamaica
graduates were placed on the Principal’s Honour Roll
from a group of twenty-one (21) that were accorded
this distinction. This underlines the positive impact of
UTech, Jamaica Jamaica’s Faculty of Law.
Accreditation
Both the Application and Self Study documents
have been submitted to the Office of Curriculum
Development and Evaluation for review, as a precursor
to perfecting and completing the documents for
submission to the University Council of Jamaica for
accreditation.
Book Donations
The Jamaican Bar Association (JAMBAR) donated
books valued at approximately $400,000.00 to the
Faculty of Law. The books were handed over to the
Faculty by JAMBAR President, Mr Donovan Walker, on
February 11, 2015.
