Undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies
The Caribbean School of Architecture undergraduate degree programme, Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies (BAAS) requires a minimum of five (5) subjects for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) / General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary-Level / Certificate from other equivalent entities.
Mathematics and English Language are compulsory.
APPLICATION PRIORITY DATES:
There two intake opportunities, either January or August. "Early Bird Application" is encouraged before December 2nd. Regular Application closes January 31st

Follow these instructions:
- Read the “Summary of Undergraduate Courses of Study” to identify a first and a second choice of course of study.
- Make a note of the course of study codes.
- Have a personal e-mail address ready.
- Go to the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) website.
- Click "Online Services" on the UTech homepage.
- Click "Apply to UTech".
- Click "Start a new application".
- Complete and submit the application.
- Print and save the confirmation date.
- Send before the application closing dates proof of qualifications as certified documents (see other admission information), and the Portfolio allowing ten (10) working days after submitting on-line application, to:

Visit the Campus of the University of Technology, Jamaica and pay a non-refundable application fee (JA$1,000.00 for Jamaican residents and US$40.00 for Non-Jamaicans) at the Accounts Department then go to the Office of Admissions and Enrolment Management, collect, complete, and submit the application form with proof of payment receipt, and certified documents showing proof of qualifications.
PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENT:
The Portfolio must demonstrate original ideas and works of your best artistic and creative expressions. High-quality digital scans or photographic images of original works to demonstrate ability may be sent. Portfolio should include approximately ten (10) pieces showing a variety of expressions. Minimise examples of technical drawings. Work should be presented without requiring the aid of any electronic instrument or equipment.
For easy examination, portfolios should preferably be bound pages secured in a case, 8.5 x 11 or 11x 17 inches (21.6 x 27.9 or 28 x 44 centimetres) format, clearly identified with name, address, and a brief description of content. Portfolios may include a combination of the following:
- Free-hand drawings as exploratory studies and, or finished work showing a variety of subjects such as buildings, landscapes, found objects, designed objects, imagined objects, people etc.,
- Visual arts exploratory studies and, or finished work from school courses such as painting, printmaking, design, etc.,
- Three-dimensional work (maximum three pieces) such as sculpture, furniture, ceramics, models, etc.,
- Creative writing (maximum three pieces) of poetry, prose, newspaper articles, etc.,
- Photography as an expressive medium (maximum four pieces) showing a particular ability to use the camera in the creative possibilities etc.,
- Technical drawing (maximum two pieces) to show a high quality of architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings, etc.,
- Computer-aided drawings are ineligible. Do not include these.
