Driving Development University of Technology, Jamaica ACADEMIC STAFF PROMOTIONS TO THE RANK OF SENIOR LECTURER Mrs. Longman holds a Master of Philosophy in Zoology and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology (Honours) from the University of the West Indies, Mona. An activist for the use of diverse teaching strategies in the classroom she now hones this craft on the completion of her Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Training from the Vocational Training Development Institute. In the area of research, Mrs. Longman has published in the Caribbean Journal of Education on the effectiveness of NGO-led environmental programmes; and published a book chapter on the topic of Jamaica's biodiversity. In addition,shehasdeveloped a field guide that has had a major economic impact in the agriculture sector. She has also participated and presented at several environmental conferences. Mrs.Longman currently serves on several University committees, conducts community outreach projects throughthe Kiwanis Club of Papine and otherinstitutions and is an executive member on a School Board.
