Students received a special welcome and charge from our newly appointed President, Professor Stephen Vasciannie, CD. y A total of 20 sponsors/donors supported the orientation programme. Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS) provided T Shirts for volunteer workers and UTech, Ja staff. In addition, donations were received from Citrus Trade Wind, National Youth Service, Submerge, Pepsi, Nestle, Gav Import, Seprod, Allied Insurance, Greg’s Fruit Delight, Smiths and Stewart Distributors, Massy Distributors, J.P Tropical Food, Tatoni’s Fashion Jewelers, Grace Kennedy, Kirk Distributors, RJR Radio Jamaica, Island Mist Spring Water, Flow, Digicel and Singer. Donated items included tablets, a small refrigerator, umbrellas, caps, variety of refreshments, gift vouchers, advertisement in the newspaper, cellphone, call credits, variety of ice cream products and gift baskets. y Thirty five (35) external exhibitors were present. y A total of $989, 000.00 was received for booth exhibition registration fees, electronic advertisement and advertisement in the Orientation Guidebook. International Students’ Reception y The annual International Students’ Reception was held on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Special attendees included the President, University Registrar, Deans, Head of Schools and other members of staff from Faculties/Colleges and the Division of Student Services and Registry. y Over 70 students attended the function. The feedback received indicated that they had an enjoyable time. Many expressed their appreciation for the opportunity as it allowed them to meet the University President and to interact with representatives from colleges/ faculties and other international students International Day 2018 The University of Technology, Jamaica, International Students’ Association (UTISA) celebrated International Week, February 5-9, 2018. The week started with a church service at the Fellowship Tabernacle. Registrar’s Dinner for Final-year International Students The Annual Registrar’s Dinner for Final-Year International Students was held on April 5, 2018 at the Terra Nova Hotel. The attendees included the University President, Deputy President, University Registrar, High Commissioner - Republic of Trinidad MrsJanice Sinclair-Morgan, International Student Coordinator poses with international students at church service at Fellowship Tabernacle celebrating International Week 2018.
