University of Technology, Jamaica “Pioneering Past; Bright Future ” ANNUAL REPORT 2017-2018 28 y Mr. Shervain Barrett, who graduated with First Class Honours from the Faculty of Engineering and Computing, was also a recipient of the President’s Pin for achieving a Grade Point Average of 3.76. Mr. Barrett lived on the Halls of Residence, Hall F, for his university tenure and was actively involved in resident life. University Examinations Centre y Training sessions were conducted in April 2017 and December 2017 for approximately one hundred (100) invigilators at the Kingston campus. y Academic Misconduct Inquiry Panel (AMIP) cases increased from twenty (20) for Semester 2 April/May 2017 to twenty five (25) in Semester 1 December 2017 examinations, resulting in an increase of 25%. The Academic Misconduct Panel met several times during the 2016/7 and 2017/8 academic years to review the cases of the students who were alleged to have performed various academic misconducts in their assessment examinations. y The Centre continues to provide invigilator services for approximately 40 students with special needs for Semester 2 April/May 2017 and 43 students for Semester 1 December, 2017/18 examinations, this sometimes includes providing a writer/reader and maintaining suitable exam venues. y The number of examination papers submitted for 2017 totaled 1,927. This indicates a slight increase of 2.61% over the previous year which totaled 1,878, an increase of 49 examination question papers for the year. Student Support Services Student Leadership Conference The University of Technology, Jamaica through the Student Services Department, hosted its 19 th  Annual Student Leadership Conference Students walk through the Caribbean Sculpture Park on their way to classes.
