University of Technology, Jamaica ANNUAL REPORT 2016-2017 Page 45 Excellence Through Knowledge United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI) Project Phase 1 of the UNEP-GFEI project Stabilizing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Road Transport through Doubling of Global Vehicle Fuel Economy Regional Implementation concluded August 2016. The project is being implemented on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation (MEGJC). The project hosted two national meetings involving various key stakeholders as well as other sub team meetings. The GFEI database was completed and two reports on the Jamaican fuel economy were produced. Following its success in establishing the fuel economy baseline in Jamaica, the University of Technology was invited to share the experiences at the GFEI Belize country project launch held in Belize November 2016. Knowledge Transfer Capacity Building for Enhanced Energy Access and Efficiency in the Caribbean (CAP4INNO) The University of Technology, Jamaica is a partner in the ACP EDULINK Programme CAP4INNO. In consultation with the SGSRE and the FENC, the CSEII organized activities in fulfilment of the CAP4INNO Project which concluded January 2017. a. A roundtable session for stakeholders in the Hon.
