Of the $10.1 Million Dollars , $7.7 Million Dollars ($ 7,739,876.00) was used to assist 1078 of the University’s most needy students; while the remaining $2.3 Million Dollars assisted student athletes with meals. Sports Meal Programme In October 2011, the Welfare Unit assumed responsibility for the feeding programme for student athletes. Under this arrangement, student athletes from three sporting disciplines (Track & Field, Cricket and Table Tennis) are provided with at least one meal per day. For the 2015/16 review period 70 student athletes were provided with daily meals at a cost of $2.3 Million Dollars ($2,364,000) .
