The spacious, approximately 1,000 sq. ft. pharmacy replaces the former UTech Pharmacy which previously operated in a much smaller location at the College, dating back over 40 years as part of the teaching, learning and service facilities at the former College of Arts, Science and Technology (CAST).The new UTech, Jamaica Pharmacy is registered by the Pharmacy Council of Jamaica and provides the benefits of a full service pharmacy. UTech, Jamaica Opens new State-of-the-art Pharmacy In 2009, the Government of Jamaica (GoJ) divested the former GoJ operated Dental Auxiliary School located at 5 Arthur Wint Drive, to the University of Technology, Jamaica and the School was renamed College of Oral Health Sciences. The College of Oral Health Sciences is a significant contributor to oral health knowledge and practice in Jamaica through the training of individuals for the dental workforce. Students are exposed to the application of theoretical and practical approaches to dentistry which provides them with a broad perspective of their role as dental health professionals in a developing country. The College of Oral Health Sciences offers BSc. Programmes in Dental Technology and Dental Hygiene; Diploma in Dental Assisting (advanced training in Dental Assisting), a Master of Science in Dental Therapy and the Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD). The College is committed to maintaining its well established extensive practice of voluntary, pro bono community dental service. The College has hosted hundreds of health fairs and outreach services to thousands of individuals who have received oral health care services free of charge.
